M4 mods & legal concerns

I’ve got this mag extension on my M4, but I’m keeping it dialed back to just 5rds with a lock ring and a plug. I just want to make sure I'm not tripping over any legal issues haha. What setups are you guys usingand what’s your reasoning behind them?
