The future of micro 9mms

With the recent influx of small 9mm pistols this year, is this segment as polished as it can be or can we expect more advancements in the future?

Seems like the market is pretty saturated right now but manufacturers always manage to push the envelope. I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see some breakthroughs in optics integration, ergonomics or recoil management systems coming up.

If I had to guess, we’ll see better magazines before much else. More reliable feeding and maybe a bit more capacity without making the grip bigger would be a real upgrade.
