Short AR builds

I’m in the process of fine-tuning a short AR and I’d love to know which buffer weights, springs, and gas port configurations have worked best for maintaining reliability without making the rifle overly gassy.

For my 11.5" setup, I use an adjustable gas block paired with an H3 buffer and a standard carbine spring. I’ve tuned the gas to about 10 clicks closed from fully open. This adjustment really cuts down on the gas while keeping everything reliable. When it comes to short barrels, gas tuning is important since they can be pretty harsh when suppressed.
