I have a Remington 514 single-shot .22 that I'm planning to sell, and I’m considering adding a scope rail. Do you guys think a 10/22 rail will increase its value?

Who will you sell it? If you're selling it collectors then I suggest keeping it all original. Theyd appreciate it more if you leave it untouched.

I also have a Remington 514 bolt action 22. I purchased it with seven books of Plaid stamps (remember those?) And it was shipped direct to my 8 year old self in 1960. Still a great little gun!

Sold a couple of older rimfires before, and the ones that flew off the shelves were the ones that remained stock. It seems buyers really liked having the option to mod or keeping them as they are. For me, I’d take the rail off, keep it original, and let the next owner decide how much they want to mod it.
