Once bought a gun I did not need

It was sitting at an estate sale and priced low enough that I knew I would regret leaving it there more than owning it. My wife has a very specific look she gives me when I walk in with something in a paper bag. I have seen that look before. But well, the gun is excellent and that is about all there is to it.

Been there too, sometimes you just accept the look and enjoy the deal anyway.

Estate sale rule is simple: hesitation costs more than the gun, the real price is always the walk-away regret.

Just to add...I remember that the same thing happened to me at a rural gun show years ago! I picked up a rifle just because it felt like a deal I couldn’t pass then spent the drive home quietly negotiating with myself about where it actually fit in the lineup.

Estate sales can be dangerous. I once walked out with a Browning A5 because it was just sitting there for $300, looking lonely...

Yeah, that’s the classic estate sale dilemma, logic says walk away, instinct says you’ll never see it again. At least this time it sounds like it turned into a win.
