Have you noticed any changes in the reliability of hollow-point defensive loads when exposed to low temperatures?

When it comes to expansion, the modern defensive ammo is pretty impressive. The well-known brands are built to perform well in various temps and I haven't encountered anything that would shake my confidence in them. That said, I do have a little ritual every winter where I run a few mags of my carry load through my gun just to ensure everything is still in good shape. It’s more about peace of mind than anything else and it gives me a great reason to hit the range even when it’s cold enough to make your fingers numb. That’s just been my experience anyway....

I’ve run defensive ammo in winter with no reliability issuesb ut those magazines definitely feel stiffer when everything’s cold.
