Are we finally seeing the introduction of proper gas systems for short barrels?

After trying out the new 11.5" and 12.5" barrels, I can say they feel a lot more balanced than what we had a decade ago. It's obvious that some brands are really paying attention to details like port size, dwell time and how the gun acts when suppressed vs unsuppressed rather than just drilling a big hole and hoping for the best.

Short barrels still tend to have too much gas in some designs. Companies focus on making them reliable because nobody wants a gun that jams all the time. Things like adjustable gas blocks and better suppressor setups are where you really see improvements.
