Renewal of CT pistol permit

The state confirmed receipt of my check a few weeks ago but apparently not cashed yet. I renewed by mail. In your experience is this an unusual length of time or is the state just slow? I still have six weeks + before my expiration.

A few weeks doesn't sound out of the ordinary to me. If they've acknowledged receiving it and you've still got six weeks left, I'd probably give it a little more time before getting concerned.

In Connecticut that timeline still isn’t unusual. Pistol permit renewals by mail can sit for a while before checks get cashed, and processing often doesn’t move quickly unless you’re close to expiration.

With six weeks left, you’re still in a normal window. I’d only follow up if it gets within a couple weeks of expiry with no confirmation.
